Grade 11 - Chapter 7 LOTF

Hello Grade 11's

Good work today. We read, discussed, and took notes on chapter 6 of the novel, and also watched a short video about Boys and Masculinity entitled "The Masks we Wear". This led to a discussion about "violence and respect" and how people can do aggressive/dangerous things to gain popularity and admiration from their peers.

We also reviewed the the different types of characters we encounter in fictional stories and took notes in preparation for our final exam.

Your homework for tomorrow is to read Chapter 7, select 4 quotes, and write a 2 sentence explanation for why you selected each quote.

Today we practiced letter writing using the first person perspective. We based out letters on the story "Ambush" from Sightlines 8. We also had a class debate on the story Ambush.
